Our Partners

McDonogh School is the training facility for five of the sports that Special Olympics Maryland Baltimore County (SOBA) offers. Their generous in-kind donation has made it possible for several of our sports programs to expand without worrying about not having the proper space to do so. The campus of McDonogh School provides a top notch environment for athletic training and competition.

In addition, the partnership that SOBA has with McDonogh has expanded to include the student population. A Special Olympics Club was started by Tommy & Claire Sinnott and the club has provided volunteers for a variety of sports and events.

We thank McDonogh School for their generous support of Special Olympics athletes.

Over the years AA Check Cashing of Windsor Mill has been one of the leading financial supporters of Special Olympics Maryland Baltimore County. They have raised thousands of dollars through donations from their patrons. This has been done by keeping a donation box for Special Olympics Maryland Baltimore County in their store and by holding a raffle for a car. The money that has been raised has helped SOMDBA to continue to provide all of the necessary resources so our athletes can excel. The families, athletes, volunteers, and management team can not say thank you enough. So once again, THANK YOU!

In July of 2008, The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, one of the nation’s largest private foundations granted $10,000 to Special Olympics Maryland Baltimore County. This grant came by way of the foundations Employee Giving Program which was launched in 2007 in an effort to engage the entire staff in philanthropy and the grant making process.

Special Olympics Maryland Baltimore County is thankful to all of the employees of the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation for their contributions. The $10,000 grant will help SOMDBA to continue to provide equipment for year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for citizens with intellectual disabilities. On behalf of all of the athletes, coaches, management team members, and volunteers we thank you.
