Summer Games Kicks Off On June 11th
Join us on Friday June 11th starting at 5:00 p.m. for the Special Olympics Maryland Summer Games Block Party outside of the Towson Center on the campus of Towson University. This free and family-friendly event will feature free food, entertainment, and plenty of fun activities.
Meet Special Olympic athletes from across the state, fellowship with fans and volunteers, and watch athletes from Special Olympics and members of the Law Enforcement community complete the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Following the block party, everyone will make their way into the Towson Center for the Summer Games Parade of Athletes and Opening Ceremonies which will start at 7:00 p.m. Over 1,000 Special Olympians from 21 counties and Baltimore City will march into the Towson Center. We want you their to witness this amazing site and to let out the biggest roar of the night when the athletes of Baltimore County walk into the Towson Center. Sign’s and noise makers are welcomed and encouraged.
It is not required, but if you plan on getting a large group together, and you would like to register your Cheer Team, click here (http://www.somd.org/component/content/article/3-home/160.html) to do so.
