Special Olympics Maryland Baltimore County is looking for a volunteer to coordinate its Young Athletes Program.

The program coordinator will be responsible for coming up with weekly activities/plans for the Young Athletes Program participants. Past activities have included: foundation skills, walking and running, balance and jumping, throwing and catching, kicking, and more. In addition, the program coordinator will manage all weekly activities with the help of 10 – 15 volunteers. Training for this position is provided as well as an overview of how the program has been coordinated in the past. Equipment is provided along with crafts/snack too.

The Young Athletes Program (YAP) is a FREE and innovative, sports play program for children ages 2-7 with intellectual disabilities and their peers, designed to introduce them into the world of sports and Special Olympics. The program will take start the first Saturday in March and continue on a weekly basis until the end of April. The hours for the program are 10 am – 11 am.
