Interested in playing basketball with Special Olympics Maryland Baltimore County this winter? Then mark your calendar for one of the two assessment sessions, which are from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 and Sunday, Dec. 13.

“Our goal for these pre-season sessions is …to ensure that each athlete is placed with the appropriate group in order to provide the best experience possible …this basketball season,” said basketball coach Mack McGee.

These levels will be determined at the assessment sessions. Athletes should attend at least one of the two sessions if they wish to participate in the 2010 SOBA basketball season. Both sessions will be in the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Athletic Center at McDonogh School, 8600 McDonogh Road.

Other events will be happening on campus during both of these sessions, so please arrive early to allow time for parking. Once an athlete has been assigned to a basketball program, no changes will be permitted. This includes changes due to time, date, location or convenience.

Regular training will begin in January. Times, dates, and training locations will be shared once athletes are placed in programs.

For more information, call Coach Mack McGee at 410-925-9686.
