Two Special Olympics Maryland Baltimore County athletes won medals in events at the Special Olympics Golf National Invitational Tournament in Lincoln Nebraska, August 1 – 3, 2009. Scott Glowacki placed second in Golf-Level 4 Stroke Play 9 Hole and James “Junior” Kirschner placed second in Golf- Level 1 Individual Skills. Both athletes were a part of the Special Olympics Maryland team that competed against athletes from 20 different states.
This was the 10th edition of the Special Olympics Golf National Invitation Tournament. Three competitive golf rounds were played from Aug. 1- 3 at the Mahoney Golf Course and Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln, Nebraska.
