96% of Americans say they feel people with intellectual disabilities benefit from involvement with sports. Help us to continue to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for the athletes of Special Olympics Maryland- Baltimore County. How? Participate in our 3rd Annual Inspiration Walk on April 19, 2009 @ Meadowood Park, Brooklandville, MD.
By participating in this walk you will be helping our athletes to continue to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
All athletes who participate in Special Olympics do so free of charge. We fund, train and compete in 16 different sports from Cheerleading to Basketball to Bocce to Sailing. Uniform cost, equipment cost, training facility cost, and much more, is all paid for by each individual county supporting Special Olympics. The money you raise goes directly towards the programs of Special Olympics Maryland- Baltimore County. What about the salaries of the management team members you may ask? All Special Olympics Maryland- Baltimore County management team members are volunteers. That is why we need you, the community, to continue to help support these programs.
